Product Details
Monensin is an ionophore antibiotic widely used as a coccidiostat and growth promoter in animal feed. In poultry, it prevents coccidiosis caused by Eimeria species, improving feed conversion and weight gain. In cattle, it modifies rumen fermentation by shifting the volatile fatty acid ratio toward propionate, thereby increasing feed efficiency and average daily gain in both feedlot and dairy operations. It also helps reduce the incidence of bloat and acidosis in ruminants. Monensin is also studied in pharmaceutical research for its ion-transport and anticancer properties.
